David Geckeler and Frank Michels met in design school and decided to form a joint studio in 2013. “We realized that we each needed a sparring partner,” says Michels. After all, “Design is a dialogue,” observes Geckeler. The Berlin-based duo approaches each project by asking questions, investigating new technologies, and exploring different material options. The resulting work is bold, simple, and sculptural.

The leather is tanned over a period of 8 to 12 weeks, ensuring a rich texture and depth of colour. Available exclusively in a warm, cognac shade, the leather is dyed with metal-free pigments to maintain both its natural beauty and eco-friendly quality.
aging gracefully
Over time, the leather will darken, becoming even richer and more beautiful. Finished with natural waxes and oils, it promises long-lasting durability and a refined, sophisticated look.
